First Photos of Mugen's New Honda CR-V Design Study

Among the many new customized vehicles being prepared by Honda for a world premiere at the Tokyo Auto Salon in mid-January, is the Mugen CR-V Design Study, which was announced, but not included, in the automaker's teaser photo gallery that we shared with you earlier today.

To satisfy our curiosity, we snooped around and found two photos of the Mugen-fettled concept that will most likely lead to a production model sometime next year.

Someone Should Find this Driver and Report Him/Her to the Police

Making an honest mistake while sitting behind the wheel is one thing, being careless or to put it bluntly, a complete asshat, is quite another.

On Sunday, the driver of a previous generation Honda CR-V (possibly in Taiwan - if we're wrong, tell us in the comments) was filmed by a motorcyclist making an extremely dangerous move on the road when he or she drove between a Nissan Sentra and a scooter driven by a father with his child riding at the back, almost knocking them down.

Power-Window Related Fire Risk Prompts Honda to Recall 489,000 CR-Vs in the U.S., Europe and Africa

Usually, water puts out a fire but when it comes to the Honda CR-V from the 2002 to 2006 model years, rain can eventually lead to a fire risk.

To explain, Honda discovered that if rainwater or other spilled liquids enter through an open driver's window and reach the master-power window switch, over time, it could cause electrical resistance. If that were to happen, the switch could overheat smoke, and cause a fire.

Honda Releases a Boatload of Photos of the European Market 2013 CR-V

It was only in July that Honda gave us a second look at the European specification version of its new CR-V, but the Japanese carmaker wants us to take a better and closer glimpse at the compact crossover with a new batch of high-resolution images – 95 to be precise.

The new gallery also includes shots of the available range of genuine accessories such as the two-tone alloy wheels, aero kits (as pictured above), chrome trim parts and more.

Meanwhile in Russia No12: Splash Tank, Jumpy BMW X5, Crash Parking and Fast and Faster

If you think SeaWorld's 12,000-pound orcas can make a splashing entrance, wait until you see what a tank can do to a crowd while jumping into a mud pond.

Talking about jumping, our second video from Russia shows why drivers should tone it down a notch – even though the person behind the wheel of the BMW X5 was saved from the worse of it.

Honda Drops New Photos and Video of European-Spec 2013 CR-V Crossover

The new generation of the Honda CR-V has been on sale in North America since last December, but the European version of the compact soft-roader was only just revealed in production form and it won’t be arriving in showrooms until late October – early November, depending on the country.

We have already detailed the European model in our previous post here, but Honda just came out with some new photos and static video footage of the crossover that you will find right after the break.

2013 Acura ILX and 2012 Honda CR-V Recalled Because Doors May Open "Unexpectedly"

An issue with the front door latches of the new 2012 Honda CR-V crossover and 2013 Acura ILX compact sedan is forcing Honda to voluntarily recall more than 170,000 vehicles in the United States over 20,000 in Canada.

The Japanese carmaker said that simultaneous operation of the driver's or passenger's inner door handle and either the manual or power door lock may lead to a problem that causes the door to not latch properly and possibly open unexpectedly.

Honda Unveils European Market 2013 CR-V, Available with Diesel and Petrol Engines

This is the production version of the European market Honda CR-V that was previewed through a thinly disguised prototype at this year's Geneva Motor Show in March.

Compared to the North American model that went on sale last December, the European CR-V sports some subtle design changes and a wider engine lineup that includes a pair of thrifty diesel units.

On the outside, the European model features a number of refinements including a revised front bumper, front LED daytime running lights and rear LED lights, reshaped mirrors that incorporate turning signals and a fin-style antenna. There are no notable changes to the interior.

Honda says the length (4,570mm) and height (1,650mm) of the car have been reduced by 5mm and 30mm respectively compared with the current model, without reducing the interior space. The vehicle's width remains the same.

Honda CR-V Driver Loses Control and Flips Over at the Nürburgring Circuit

True, anyone can go to the Nürburgring in Germany for a quick lap around the world's most famous racetrack, but that doesn't mean they should overdo it as common sense says they must be cautious and know the their own as well as their vehicle's limits.

Plus, what looks like a regular, previous generation Honda CR-V equipped with a…sic bull bar isn't exactly the type of vehicle you’d like to push too much at high speeds on the Nordschleife.

The driver of the Japanese crossover lost control of the vehicle as he came out of a quick corner and ended flipping over the guardrail. The accident, as you can imagine, is a very scary one indeed.

Honda to Recall 554,000 CR-V and Pilot SUVs in the States Over Headlight Glitch

Honda has just issued a voluntary recall for approximately 554,000 SUVs in the United States to address a potential problem with components of the headlight wiring system.

The recall affects 2002 to 2004 model year CR-V crossovers and 2003 model year Pilot SUVs.

"There is a potential failure with the wiring of the headlight switch which may cause the low beam headlights to become inoperative," the Japanese automaker said in a statement adding that it is not aware of any crashes or injuries related to this issue.

Honda Announces Voluntary Recall of Certain 2006 CR-Vs Because they Could Lose Control

Owners of the 2006 model CR-V crossover in the Unites States will soon receive a notification from Honda to bring their vehicles to an authorized dealer for inspection.

The reason why Honda issued the voluntary safety recall on 1,316 examples of its model-year 2006 CR-V is a potential problem with the right front lower control arm that could cause the vehicle to go out of control.

Honda will voluntarily recall 1,316 model-year 2006 CR-V vehicles in the United States to inspect and, if necessary, replace the right front lower control arm.

Honda Brings CR-V, NSX and EV-STER Concepts to the Geneva Motor Show

With the exception of the special edition Jazz Si, Honda didn't really have something new per se to share with us at the Geneva Motor Show as all three concept models displayed at its stand have already received their world premieres.

The most interesting prototype if of course the NSX, which is exhibited in Geneva with Honda instead of Acura badges. Seen for the first time in Detroit this past January, the study previews the design and technology direction for the second generation of the NSX.

Some of the highlights include the new hybrid all-wheel-drive system that utilizes a mid-mounted V6 engine and three electric motors.

Honda's second concept foreshadows the next CR-V for the European market that will make its official debut in production trim at the Paris Salon in the fall of 2012. No need to wait to see how it looks though as the 4th generation CR-V is already on sale in North America and Japan.

Honda to Display NSX and European CR-V Concept Plus New 1.6L Diesel at the Geneva Salon

Honda today revealed its line-up for the Geneva Motor Show that takes place in March. The highlight of the Japanese firm's display will be the NSX Concept that features a mid-mounted V6 and a hybrid all-wheel drive system. The production version will arrive within the next three years.

The second Honda concept that will make its European debut in Geneva will be the EV-STER, an electric roadster, akin to a 21st century version of the early ‘90s Beat Kei-car.

Much closer to production, and of bigger interest to a most customers, is the European version of the all-new CR-V crossover. Although it will be displayed as a prototype, the new CR-V, which is already available in the U.S., will effectively preview the European model that is set to go on sale this autumn.

Ferris Bueller Takes a Day Off to Enjoy the 2012 CR-V in Honda's New Super Bowl Ad

If you were expecting Matthew Broderick to mark his return as a 50-year old Ferris Bueller with a Ferrari model, you're out of luck as the much publicized teaser turned out to be a commercial for the all-new 2012 Honda CR-V, an extended version of which you can watch after the break.

Honda brought Ferris Bueller's Day Off back to life for the Super Bowl XLVI game with Matthew Broderick playing himself.

The two-and-a-half minute spot that pays homage to the classic 1980's movie shows Broderick skipping out on a day of acting work to enjoy his all-new CR-V.

The Japanese company says that it has hidden over two dozen references to the movie throughout the extended version of the commercial that will air on February 5 during the game. See if you can find them in the video that follows after the break.
