Citroën Targets Europe's Taxi Market with New Edition of DS5 Hybrid4

Unlike the United States where the taxicab market is as tedious as a Ford Crown Victoria in a white finish, in Europe, it's as colorful as a summer garden with offerings ranging from inexpensive Dacia Logan saloons to luxurious Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estates and everything in between.

And the palette will soon get more vibrant with the addition of the Citroën DS5 Hybrid4 that will be unveiled in a world premiere at the upcoming European Taxi Fair in Cologne from November 9 to 11, 2012.

Naturally, the 66-year old author returned the favor by posing for a photo shoot and filming a short clip with the DS5 that you can watch after the break.

Citroën DS5 Testers Meet the Original DS

Citroën may have re-energized its DS moniker through a brand-new lineup of cars, but few will disagree with us when we say that its fresh batch of DS products need a long way to go before they achieve the status and the respect that the original "Déesse" (goddess) commands today.

But marketing is marketing and Citroën hopes that by showing off the original DS alongside its newer creations like DS5 can have a positive effect on buyers.
