We meet the man in the red suit chilling out in a bar in the North Pole on Christmas Eve at 6:30 PM ordering multiple milkshakes with no intention to leave. The clock ticks pass 10 PM, but Santa shows no desire to stop drinking milkshakes, much to the dismay of the grumpy barman.

However, wanting and being able to obtain the roofless Aventador J Speedster are two different things. Even if you could afford it, Lamborghini only built one specimen that was sold to an unnamed buyer even before we laid our eyes on the car.

For those of you wondering why, to put it simply, the open-top Murcielago's roof was a cosmetic and engineering joke, especially for a vehicle that cost in the region of $400,000.
Not that Lamborghini's engineers pushed themselves in any way with the Aventador LP700-4 Roadster, but at least the carbonfibre targa tops seem fairly easy to operate and mount on the exotic supercar's roof.

The first addition to the hugely successful Aventador, which has already sold some 1,300 units since its introduction in summer of 2011, thankfully foregoes the annoyingly fiddly fabric cover of its Murcielago Roadster predecessor in favor of a lightweight, two-piece hard top made out of carbon fiber.
Just like other open-top supercars, including Ferrari’s 458 Spider and McLaren’s MP4-12C Spyder, the Aventador Roadster is actually more of a targa than an all-out roadster.
Unlike those models, though, the Lambo's roof is not electrically operated as it must be removed by hand. Lamborghini, however, claims that its design and low weight (less than 6 kg/13 pounds) make it easy to handle. When removed, it is stored in the front luggage compartment, while going topless or putting it back on is a matter of seconds.

While no one else will have the opportunity to ride the Aventador J, German tuner of all things exotic, DMC, wants to apply some of the unique styling cues found on the speedster to the mainstream" Aventador LP700-4 coupe through a new customization program.

We do have to admit, though, the clip has far more music going on for it than what we would have preferred, especially given the Aventador's wonderful V12 music track and which is said to be further enhanced by DMC's titanium exhaust system that weighs only 1/10th of the stock unit (34kg).

Joining the Gallardo is the 2013 version of Lamborghini's flagship Aventador LP700-4, which was upgraded on several levels, despite the fact that it has only been on the market for less than a year.
In fact, the changes on the Aventador are far more substantial than on the Gallardo beginning with the adoption of newly developed start-stop and cylinder deactivation systems for the V12 engine.
The start-stop system used on the Aventador is unique and comes fitted with high-performance capacitors known as "supercaps", which allow for a much faster start up than a conventional unit at 180 milliseconds or 0.18 seconds.
So, while we have already shown you our fair share of raging bull models, we thought that a video of stealthy matte black Aventador (ed's note: our choice of paint if we ever win the lottery) and a retina-piercing orange Gallardo Performante, aka the open-top version of the Superleggera, wouldn’t go amiss.
